Aarne Ahi

Aarne Ahi (11.09.1943) is an animator and director, who firstly started his career as a gaffer at Tallinnfilm. Few years later he worked for at Tallinnfilm’s department of puppetry. His biggest inspiration and mentor was one of the founding fathers of the Estonian puppet animation Heino Pars. You could say that Aarne Ahi is a multitalented man since he has worked as an animator, director, crafter etc. He is known for “Miriam’s Gnome” (2003), “Mighty Crayfish and Greedy Wife” (1985) or “The House Spirit” (1991). Also helped with some fiction films, for example “Somnambulance” (2003) and “Letters from the East” (1995). Later, he started his work at Nukufilm and collaborating with Finland filmmakers.
