Walter Reuter

Walter Reuter (4 January 1906 – 20 March 2005) was a German-born, Mexico-based cinematographer and documentary filmmaker. After settling in Mexico in 1942, he transitioned from still photography into nonfiction production, co-directing Historia de un río and later making commissioned documentaries for institutions and broadcasters including Musée de l'Homme, BBC, and Westdeutscher Rundfunk. As a cinematographer, he worked on features such as Tierra de chicle, Raíces, El brazo fuerte, and Los pequeños gigantes, and he taught at the Centro Universitario de Estudios Cinematográficos.
