Although viewed as a novelty and gimmick by producers, Frank Sinatra establishes himself as an actor in Hollywood. He lands main parts in musicals like Anchors Aweigh, but his career soon takes a nosedive in the new age of television. He redeems himself by fighting for the part of Maggio, in From Here to Eternity, against all odds and wins an oscar for his acting.
