A lonely old man lives in the old Moscow courtyard, his gray life is transformed when he finds a helpless little daw that has fallen out of the nest in the courtyard. But the old man himself turns out to be just as defenseless in the face of the thoughtless cruelty of the company of neighboring boys. Is there among them at least one with a pure and kind heart who will come to the aid of the old man and his pet?
